Southampton City Vision – We are excited that things are a-happening around the future of the city. On Fri 2nd Aug 2019 we attended a community sector Friday Forum event at Southampton Voluntary Services, which had a focus on the city’s Local Plan. Southampton City Council is planning for its first stage of consultation on this important document which sets out plans for development in the city. We have helped by setting up a Facebook forum #SotonCityVision in order to encourage members of the community to talk to each other about our city’s future, and encourage a “co-production approach” (doing it together, not being “done to”). Join us!
How arts and creativity can help people’s health – There’s lots of evidence that getting involved in creative pursuits is good for mental and physical health. Our own Rebecca Kinge is a co-ordinator of The Southampton Art in Health Forum alongside Matt Salvage from SoCo Music Project. The next meeting is on 5th Sept 2019 at 1pm at City Eye. Come along, all welcome. Details here. We’ll be launching a health model village of the city, that you can all contribute to.
The Race Is On – a film premiere and community conversation – 5th September at 7pm at NST City- We’re delighted to be supporting Paul Maple and James Dyke in the launch of their film about the secrets and solutions of climate change. Come as an audience member and join in the conversation. Free tickets for local climate change initiatives. Details here.

Watch out for activities around International Peace Day on 21 Sept too, the theme being climate action for peace. We’ll share anything we hear via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Southampton Health Cycle – Fri 27th Sept 2019 – travelling together between different health venues in the city by bicycle, on foot, wheelchair and skateboard. At each health stop we will be discussing active travel, accessibility to health and the city’s air quality. You are welcome to join us on the journey or at one or more of the stops.
