Hands On Nature, Sat 31 Oct 2026 1-4.30pm, Hoglands Park, Southampton SO14 1LT

Drop in nature activities for all with gardener Lizzie Jones and Ruth from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. There will be a led walk with the Alan Gibson the Urbane Forager starting at 2pm. At 4pm Caustic Bloom will take us to Queensway to sow seeds. 

If you'd like to join the walk with Alan Gibson, to guarantee a place, please resister in advance here. Or turn up on the day and try your luck.

Green Library, Mon 19 Oct 2026 2-4pm, Shirley Library, Southampton SO15 5LL

On 19 Oct 26 about 30 people  of all ages popped into the children's section of Shirley Library. 

* Children made houses and street scenes out of lego and did some vibrant colouring

* We talked with adults and children alike about what its like in Shirley and we shared news of our new project Exploring Shirley which will be free outdoor activites for chidlren between the precinct and the park in 2027 and 2028.

* Children read books in our cosy children’s reading den.

* We displayed a selection of books with an eco theme and information about local environmental initiatives.

* My Home Made Better came and chatted about opportunities to save energy in affordable ways.

 

💛 Southampton Mental Health Friendly Day 💛

Rebecca Kinge from Southampton Collective and Spencer Bowman from Mettricks hosted a "come and say hello" session on Wed 8th July 2026 at The Portswood Bakery at  267 Portswood Road, Southampton SO17 2LA

Southampton Climate Action Network's Summer Climate Gathering was on 16 July 5-7pm at Pettinger Gardens, St Denys. This was one of seasonal climate events, which happen every 3 months.

This was for our members, friends and anyone interested in our work, and has helped to identify work to focus on later in 2026 and 2027.

Earth Day - Spring Climate Gathering - all welcome - SoCAN: Southampton Climate Action Network 22 April 2026 4.30-7pm at Aldermoor Community Farm.  23 people representing over 20 organisations and businesses attended and shared their brilliant work on climate and nature. And we had a really interesting tour of this urban farm, which is doing so much to connect people with food growing and all the benefits of being in nature.
