The team is made up of:
Clare Diaper
Clare works with October Books and Transition Southampton and is involved in a range of community activity in the city. She has a background in sustainability research with a focus on our urban water systems and has over 15 years experience in this area. In the past ten years Clare has been a key member of Transition groups both here in Southampton and in Australia and is passionate about the head, heart and hands approach the movement advocates and the focus on positive community led action.
Rebecca Kinge
Rebecca is a Southampton-based Community Development Worker with a passion for people’s health and happiness, alongside addressing climate change and biodiversity loss. She believes in the strength and skills of communities, in order to address the social, economic and environmental issues of our time.
Rebecca works for The Southampton Collective CIC, as a founding Director, and Co-Chairs the Southampton Climate Action Network. She also coordinates Southampton Coproduction Corner. She has an Honorary Doctorate of Science from Solent University and Degree / Diploma in Town Planning. Rebecca lives with Functional Neurological Disorder, which is disabling at times. Mandi Bissett
Mandi is a member of the Southampton Climate Commission and the Climate Emergency UK steering group on council climate action plans. She wrote the environmental sustainability strategy for Southampton’s City of Culture bid and co-developed the environmental programming element with arts charity Cape Farewell. She also developed and led the £75,000 Nesta-funded clean air project Breathing Spaces, working in partnership with academics from the University of Southampton and Solent University. Mandi is an ACCESS Leadership College Fellow, bringing community insights to environmental social science. She is currently supporting the Southampton Climate Action Network on its Doughnut Economics research project with the University of Southampton.
Katie Daley-Yates
Katie joined us as Co-Director in June 2023, a Public Art Producer and has developed projects such as Drawing on the Outside and the Eel Run.
